The Goygol region and the history of JSC "Goygol Wine Factory" were covered on the Euronews channel.
In Azerbaijan, the first settlement was founded by migrants from European countries in the Goygol region. The familial ties between Russian Tsar Alexander I and the German aristocracy in the early 19th century contributed to the warm relations between Germany and Russia. Therefore, the establishment of German colonies in various regions of the Russian Empire faced no obstacles.
On May 10, 1817, permission was granted for the resettlement of 1,500 German families. One of the groups of German families heading to the Caucasus chose the Goygol region as their final destination. At that time, the Goygol region was called the Helenendorf district of the Yelizavetpol province.
The report covers the settlement of Germans in the city of Goygol, their activities, as well as the "Goygol Wine Factory," which has a 157-year history of winemaking. The report notes that the "Goygol Wine Factory" was founded in 1860 and that 60% of wine supplies in the Caucasus region come from this enterprise. Our production manager, Rasim Omarov, provided information about our company's history and its current activities to the Euronews channel.
